 Got ours last Friday, been enjoying it ever since. Been varying between 45 mpg (when my husband drives like he normally does) and over 50 (when my husband drives the car like he should). I've been getting about 48 when I drive.

I think it would be cool to have two mpg meters kind of like how you have two trip odomoters and an overall odomoter. That way you could check what your mileage is on trips without having to reset it entirely. Ah well, I'll deal

Congratulations! I agree about the "trip" mileage. I never liked how simple it was to accidentally reset the meter and be screwed for a while...

I have wondered why no one has copied the lmpg, 2 trip meters and segment meter as well as instaneous meter used in the Insight. I use the segment display to check each drive, the B trip meter for the tank average, the instaneous to modify my driving and the A meter has been runing for 20+K miles as a shorter time frame versus the lmpg. So as you can see I have a lot of ways to get feedback on how I'm doing in regards to fuel economy. I miss this ability when I drive the Prius but fortunately we have Jason's mileage database to keep a lmpg record. Have fun, Rick

Hi Rick:

___Without a few pics and explanations, a Prius or other std. ICE driver will never understand what you and I are speaking of in regards to the displays and such of an Insight … An HCH driver will however When I talk about the various gauges and real time information I have available to me to coworkers, I see blanker stares then when I am speaking about various type of fertilizers

___Hopefully this will begin to explain what is available for display in an Insight to fellow non-Insight Hybrid owners:

************************************************** ******************

___The pic directly above is the Trip A or Trip B screen(s). It includes the Tank, Trip, or whatever distance you want to use it for and the fuel economy achieved over that distance. You can see the instantaneous mileage graph on the bottom as well as the speedometer, tach, battery State of Charge (SOC), fuel gauge, etc. The car is shut down in this pic taken last month sometime.

************************************************** ******************

___The pic just above shows an Insight’s lifetime mpg (LMPG) screen and odometer which was also taken last month sometime.

************************************************** ******************

___This is one of my favorites as it is my personal best but this screen is what an Insighter knows as his or her segment display. This is like a Trip A or Trip B but can be toggled between any of the Trip A, Trip B, or LMPG/Odometer screens and back to this Segment screen with a single button on the far left side of the dash called the FCD or Fuel Consumption Display button.

************************************************** ******************

___And finally, this is what the game gauge looks like in action which all Insighter’s use for instantaneous fuel consumption feedback. It is used to hone fuel economy driving skills to the edge of the envelope if we so choose. I know Rick has probably glanced at this display more then possibly anyone on the planet

************************************************** ******************

___Jason, this should probably go in an Insight FAQ or in the Insight forum itself but I thought it would be nice for the Prius drivers to know what an Insighter sees on a daily basis as well.

___Good Luck

Looks like you have some broken images, there.

I'm off for the night, so I'll check back and deal with the thread tomorrow. Have a good night!

Can't see the first or the last. The three in the middle are fine.

Hi Ericbecky:

___It looks like Insight Central.net is off line for the second time in 2 days … The first and last pics came directly from them. Let me know in the morning when (or if?) Insight Central is back online if the pics and/or the links to the pics are available or not …

___Thanks again and Good Luck

If i get what you are saying, the Prius does have that. There is both an average trip mpg and instentanious mpg.

The "problem" with the trip mpg is that it gets reset when you fill up and if you accidently bump the rest button.

I think the poster was saying she wanted to be able to track both her mpgs and her husbands separately, like user settings.

That's neat that the insight has that.

Yep - would love to keep track of the mpg of either of these scenarios:

- overall tank average and trip tank average
OR
- overall tank average, my average, and my husband's average
