2004 Gray Prius with smart start/entry and VSC

CO has one of the highest state tax incentives in the country, when a *new* Prius is purchased -- somewhere in the order of US$ 3K. If the Fed tax deduction is added (about $500, depending on tax bracket), it makes a brand new package 4 cost around $20K. Neither incentive is available for a used Prius.

So this dealer is starting out some $6 - 8K over anything approaching a reasonable price. Car salesman. Blech

Seven years ago my wife and I were shopping for a new four cylinder, small tire Toyota 4-Runner for less than $25,000. We went to the Burt dealership and felt like a group of vultures descended upon us. They pressured us into talking to one of the managers who said it was impossible to buy a new 4-Runner for less than $30,000. We got away and swore to NEVER go back. We used auto-by-tel and purchased a custom made new 4-Runner for $24,000 and picked it up at a nice dealership about an hour drive north of Denver.
Now everyday I ask my wife what color new Prius she wants to replace the 4-Runner to match my driftwood pearl.
