I know this is in the impossible pile, but theoretically couldn't someone make a mod to deactivate the "tranny drag" effect. The car doesn't need to go into green arrow mode when you let off the gas, they just wanted to give it the feel of an automatic transmission, just like the "tranny creep", the car doesn't actually need to creep ahead when you take the foot off the brake. I would like to see that as a feature of future model years, part of an "eco" mode maybe, to always allow easy pulse and glide. Every time you take the foot off the gas, you just glide as far as you can, hindered only by rolling friction and air resistance.

That "tranny creep" was a big thing when they introduced CVTs. In the case of the HCH, they wanted that in before releasing the car to the public. But the eco button should be designed to do a lot more. Maybe 3 levels of eco would be nice for the extreme folks.

When the battery is totally full the car will not do the coasting regen, so in theory if you told the car that the battery is full (fake battery ECU signals, like the plug-in mod does) you'll get that effect, but you don't wanna leave it that way for too long, or it will use up your battery too quickly because when it's full it tries to drain off the top couple bars more aggressively than normal.

Try it out some time by filling the battery, usually a good down hill will do the trick.

Aside from the safety issue (immediate access to the throttle), why not put the car into neutral, instead of feathering the throttle, to glide? Is the effect any different?
