Default Question about Emissions

Hi All,
I have a question regarding the emissions from a Prius. I know that the Prius is supposed to be the best hybrid for the environment regarding emissions into the atmosphere. This is my question, is it better because the mpg of the Prius is better and thus there are less emissions since less fuel is being used? Or, are there less emissions per gallon of fuel used?
Thanks!

Hi Javawebgrrl,

Check out this link, which has a ton of info on all models.

http://epa.gov/greenvehicles/select.htm

If you have an AT-PZEV rating, you own one of the cleanest vehicles on the planet.

I would say that your Prius emits less pollutants than 99% of all other vehicles as does the HCH. Some emissions are rated at grams/mile, which can all be found at the above link.

Air Pollution Score is rated at grams/mile.
Greenhouse Gas (CO2) is rated at lbs/CO2 per mile.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Ralph

Is there a resource to find an ongoing list? Who tops the chart?
