Default rough running prius

with engine running car sitting still in drive, feels like the engine is missing, is this normal?

No. But it is stranger that you haven't seen an error code or check engine light come on. Take it to the dealer Saturday morning?

With Prius in general, when the gas engine shuts off it bucks a little bit. Some people feel this more than others. With the 2004 Prius, the seal on the hood needed to be fixed to keep water out. The water got in around the spark plugs and was not helpful. Possibly this problem persisted into the 2005 model year? Other than that you might have a problem, hard to say via the internet (as usual).
