I am 62 years old and had never owned anything but Fords. (Still have a 1966 Mustang GT Fastback) When I started researching a replacement for my business car (1994 escort wagon) I could not find a Ford that lit my fire. I bought an 03 Prius after much research. When the '04's came out, I had to have one. I sold my '03 to a friend really wanted it. He still has it with 135,000 miles + on it and he also has an '05. My '04 now has 134,000 on it with absolutely no problems. I replaced the accessory battery at 130,000 when the car was 35 months old. I am on my third set of tires. (including the originals) I now have 9 friends with Priuses. No problems with any of them that I know of. Bottom line. Toyotas in general are great cars and Priuses are awsome cars. I drive all day every day and do not baby my car. It still gets from 48-52 MPG in all kinds of traffic and on all types of roads.

Welcome..

At 134,000+ miles in 3 years - on your 2nd Prius - you have just jumped to the No 1 position in the mileage database by a whopping 40,000 miles.

You are the one we will point to when someone asks 'How long will these hybrids last?'

Congrats..

Oh, and did I mention I had my car inspected Saturday (1/13/06) and the "ORIGINAL" brakes are still fine. 134,000 miles. I do back off when I see a red light if there's no one pushing me. Saves a lot of braking, and the requisite re-accelleration.

Oops, I meant 1/13/07. Time flies, when you're 62 and senile.
