Default Re: Bought an Insight in Ohio...Any insight?

If you want ultimatel mileage you want to stay with the OEM tires as they are designed for low rolling resistance. I own a 2000 Insight and my current LMPG is 77.7 but I am still learning and improving. I've had several trips over 100mpg with most door to door commutes averaging in the 80s. It's a 5 speed and has the warm-air modification, engine block heater and I try to use all the hypermiling tricks I can including running my tire pressure around 60psi.

Just keep researching and enjoy.

Default Insight OEM Tires

Can you send me links where I can get any OEM tire that will fit my insight? What is the tire (brand name & type) and where can I purchase? Oh, and I'm a newbie - what does "OEM" stand for?
I really appreciate any links or information about this matter!

FYI, all of my online searches for a tire that fits the insight just lead back to Bridgestone Protenza which I can't find online. I haven't checked any stores in my area yet.

There is only one OEM tire and that is the Bridgestone Potenza RE92 P165/65R-14. Most tire dealers do not carry them in stock but can order them which can take a few days to a few weeks. OEM stands for original equipment from the manufacturer.

I use Discount Tire as they generally have good service & prices but if they are not in your area any tire dealer should be able to order them for you. Discount tire may also ship them to you if you can't locate another option.

The specific tire is linked below:
