I'd say this is the only thing that matters here. The guy made up the whole story, was proven to have made it up, and was fired and his work discredited. That seems pretty conclusive. Maybe try writing to the place that's hosting the article and let them know it's entirely falsified.
On the other hand, maybe we're going about this all wrong? Perhaps we need to jump on the bandwagon and make our own falsified studies? Perhaps next week I will claim to have a pH.D in environmental studies and have proven that vehicles made by UAW workers subject the user to acid rain exposure based on residual humidity in the vehicle being from Detroit or whatever? That should be every bit as credible as the Insight blasting it's occupants with radiation.
