Am I missing something??

I was looking at the Achievement Records in the database, and ran across xcel's 1,345 miles on a tank of gas in an Insight at 95.3 mpg. If my math is correct (1,345 / 95.3), that's 14.11 gallons of gas. I happen to have an Insight brochure right here beside me...it says the tank is 10.6 gallons.

Now, I've put more gas in my Civic Hybrid than it says it can hold (13.2 gallons, and I put in 13.4), but never 3.5 gallons!

Are these numbers correct??

Mark

Hi Buzz70:

___Yes, they are. Look at the notes and follow the links to Insight Central.net discussion on > 13 gallons capacity here: http://www.insightcentral.net/forum/...pic.php?t=1336 . The Insight on a rare occasion when the vapor canister HW can be filled holds ~ 14 gallons of fuel. If it ever happens again, I am going to take a few days off from work and try and take out that French guy’s world record in the Diesel powered Peugeot. SOB was doing 40 miles per hour around Australia to achieve a 1,445 mile range I think I read, not driving back and forth to work of all things.

Hey Wayne!

Yeah, come to think of it, I had read that somewhere. I read it wasn't good to fill up that canister.

I think the HCH also has that. I've put 13.67 in it before, but that's as high as I've been.

I hope it does happen for you again -- GO FOR IT!! And congratulations on such a great milestone.

Sincerely,

Mark

Hi Jason:

___What do you mean wasted fuel? I have to go pick up a case of Pepsi from the store (it’s on sale for a real good price ) the next time it happens. Just because the store happens to reside in western Nebraska or Eastern Colorado is of no consequence! Pepsi is that good I wonder if Mountain Dew would be interested in that story
