Insight Break In Period?

Insight Break In Period?
Just drove my older ('01) Insight to work this morning to keep it excercised and was surprised at how much better FE it seems to get. Came in on the freeway at 60mph rather than my normal country road commute and was able to get 95+mpg. With my new ('04 with ~7,500miles on it) Insight, its a real effort to consistently get 95mpg, even on the country roads at 35mph. Using the freeway it's tough to get 90mpg.
The first thing I'm going to do when I get home is check the tire pressure on the '04 - perhaps it has drifted down from 50psi. However, I'm wondering whether I might be experiencing some break-in related reduction in FE. I know - I shouldn't be complaining about 90+ mpg, but the difference was so striking to me.
Does anyone have any input on the break-in period for an Insight?

Re: Insight Break In Period?
My '05 has just about 3,700 miles on it now.
It is a chore to keep the FCD at 100 mpg or higher. Speed cannot be above 40-44 mph to hold that on the FCD.
My tires are at 48 psig all the way around.
Not using A/C in this heat is a challenge.
I'm hoping as the car gets more miles on it, it will loosen up and improve a little. And maybe the first oil change will help, I may not wait till the 7500 mile interval.
Regards,

kayakwill,
I assume you'll be putting 0w20 when you change the oil, right?
Buy some ahead of time, or check with your dealer to be sure that they have some available to put in. Also be sure they do not overfill the oil.
