yah, i cant find tires that cheap... i even have costco's coupon book for the summer wich doesnt have any tire sales..

165/65/14 for 109CDN is pretty steep.. my high performance summer tires dont even cost that much.
i plan to get 175/65/14 falken 512 for 69CDN, even though it doesnt utilize the cars full utilty, in the long run, it would save...

ideaology is:
for the non stock spec tires - since i pay less for tires, i estimate pumping 1-2 litres more at the pump..with more grip.. and the tires are 160CDN cheaper than stock while buying 4.. $160 is alot of liters
stock size and brand tires - the stock size is that i would pay alot for tires, and use factory output of fuel..

I'm pretty sure that if I hadn't found a good deal on the tires, I would have switched to a different brand that wasn't low rolling resistance.

I was at first daunted by the prices of the Bridgestone tires and the lack of availablilty.

However I discovered that Les Schwab makes thier own tire in that size and it is substantially cheaper than the same tire from the other manufacturer.

Hi Lbvaughan:

___About all I can add is you really want to be careful for what you wish for in regards to replacement tires for the Insight. Those that have switched to larger, sticker, or off-brand tires usually do receive improved traction and less tram-lining but they take a huge hit in the FE department and the strain placed on the pack just shortens the life of the vehicle that much more.

___Just a warning and one that some may want to take careful consideration of is all.

___Good Luck
