75 MPG @ 55 miles per hour is a reasonable expectation.

This drops from 75 MPG to about 50 MPG if you drive 75.

50 psi? Bumpy ride?

Compared to what?
I find the Insight at any psi is softer than my Ford Hybrid Escape.

You need to just try it and see for yourself.

I just drove it for the first time. I drove 71 miles and got 67.9 mpg. I figure that isn't too shabby for my first time.

Oh, and before today, I'd never driven a manual.

Congrats! Nice job! 67.9 mpg is higher than the average "MT" Insight in the database so you are already on track to be a hypermiler.

Congrats. Wonder why Honda doesn't freshen it up a bit and bring it back. Bet it would sell well now.
