Hi yesterday i was driving home and my check engine light came on. I hooked up my code reader and it came up P1420 does some one know what P1420 is? at the time the engine light came on i was playing with the cruise control hitting Accel and Decel to go faster and slower is it possible that caused it. I cleared the light and i put 75 miles on it and it did not come back on yet.

Misfires can cause a rash of error codes.

reset it and if the same code comes up then truouble shoot the system.

Hi ronnie, I stoped by my local honda dealer and told them the code i got and he sad it is "Nox Absorptive Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold" possible causes are
1-bad lower cat converter (under floor cat) there are 2 cats
2-bad lower cat O2 sensor
3-re program pcm to tollerate O2 sensor threshold honda of america has a TSB on this.
I mentioned what you said it might be and he said it is not what the code stands for but another mechnaic said P1420 for an Audi or VW is "Sec.Air Inj.Valve Circ Electrical Malfunction"
