I forgot about the whole idea of using the Homelink part from the Accord until the other day. I decided to do some homework. The part is the same size and shape as in the civic. I went to the dealership and looked at an Accord. I also went onto college hills honda and they now have the part avaliable as an accessory for the '06 Accord. According to the diagram, the part with the map lights are the same shape and size as well. They also have install directions on College Hills, so I checked the connections. Eariler today I took apart the map light in my civic and it also has two connectors like in the diagram for the homelink part and they appear to match. I can't see why they would not match because the only real difference is a switch for the overhead door lights. The homelink device itself has no connecion to the car or computer other than for power. Think I may go and buy the part and try it out.

just wanted to see if you had a chance to do this. i am highly interested in this mod.

Folks-does anyone know if that kit includes a transmitter or is it built into the switch (or is it already pre-installed in the Accord, but the switch just activiates it?

also, for anyone who has done this, does the ambient glow light work?

I took a look and it doesn't seem like it will work. On the accord they can jsut pop out the peice for the light and homelink. but, in the civic it is all one peice. So, i think this is a no go.

well you can just get the wire harness from honda and just get the homelink mirror somewhere. the wire harness is like $50 at honda. I just did that and used the dimming mirror with compass from my other car before i traded it in.

It looks like there are some differences but may still be worth a shot - but who has both cars and can test or us so that someone does not have to spend $200 to test...
