Ron, it is possible that your average MPG for the first 61 miles happens to be the same as what it is AFTER mile 63.
For instance if you were driving at a constant speed on a 500 mile trip on a flat road if your car had the bug you wouldn't see any change at mile 63. THe conditions are the same before and after the "62.5-mile-zeroing".
But if you drove the first 61 miles on a flat road at a constant 50 miles per hour, then parked the car and started it up cold the next morning and drove like a teenageer you WOULD see the difference after mile 63.
It would drop down to 25 or so.
If your car did not have the problem it would drop to only about 55 or so.
Need fewer troops to support.
Drive a hybrid.
Best tank 71.65 MPG.
