Default 06 HCH trunk release button

When I got my car last february, I was really surprise it did not had a trunk release button on the remote. I really miss that feature.

From information I found here, only the HCH with NAV as this button on the remote? Am I right?

My question here is: Do you think, may be the only thing missing to get the trunk open remotely is the remote? What am saying is, all the electronic is in place in the car to have the trunk remotely open?

This way, I could only order a new remote, have it program to work with my car.

Thanks.

Sorry, I know, my english is not so good.

My non-Nav HCH II came with keys that have a trunk release button on them.

So may be it's a Canadian thing not a Nav / no Nav.

My guess is your a missing the solindoide (mechanisim that pops the trunk). You can get them aftermarket. Alot of bodyshops install them.

Mine also had a trunk release button on the key (no nav). Maybe they just gave you the wrong type of key.

Shenfo,

What country did you purchase your HCH in? I've seen that some Canadian models have different features than the US models. I have not heard much about other countries that sell the HCH. My '06 HCH (no navi) bought in NY State does have the trunk release on the car key.

Good luck,

It's certainly great when its raining hard and your trolley is full of shopping not to have to enter the key in the lock but merely press as you approach. My Accord Coupe did have it but my new HCHII does'nt. As someone rightly noted each car for each market is diferent. Based on what local management deem the customer requires.

It is a Canadian thing. For some reason Canadian Civic's don't get the trunk release. Perhaps it is to make the Canadian Acura CX owners feel better, since they are basically driving the new Civic with minor changes and a bigger engine.

You might be able to purchase the Acura CX trunk release and install it?
