Default 2006 civic hybrid fuel tank capacity

are the 06's, since they are all supposed to be at-pzev's, all going to have the 11.9 or 13.2 gallon tank
? or are californian's still going to get the smaller 11.9 gallon tank?

.

Hi Jbtaco2002:

___That exact question was asked in one of the other 06 HCH threads a day or two ago. From those that had the 06 Civic brochure in hand, the 06 PZEV receives a 12.3 gallon tank vs. the 03-05’s 11.9 gallons. I thought I remember the poster saying the non-hybrid’s kept the 13.2 as their std. cap?

___Good Luck

Is that the actual tank size or does it not count the two-gallon reserve? It would be disappointing if I could only use 10 gallons before the low-fuel alarm goes off.

The 2006 Civic Brochure states the following:

13.2 Fuel (gal) for the DX LX EX

12.3 Fuel (gal) for the HYBRID

Brochure does not state what the Reserve is or when the Low-Fuel light comes on.

I would say the owners manual would give that info. or a call to your Honda Service Dept.

But what about the current hybrid? The 2005 ULEV HCH also is stated as having a 13.2 gallon tank. So how many gallons are used by the time the low-fuel light comes on: 11 or 13? They'd obviously not change their measurement methods between years so if 13.2 includes reserve in 2005 then it would include reserve in 2006.

I see where you are coming from and my (Opinion) is that Honda is stating total fuel capacity when they state 13.2 for 2005 and 12.3 gallons for 2006 and from there one can see that if thats going to leave 2 to 2.5 gallons of fuel then as you said that leaves approx. 10 gallons of fuel used before low-fuel light comes on for the 2006 HCH.

12.3 Total Capacity
10.0 Gallons Used/Burned
2.3 gal. for reserve approx.
