Default 2009 Hybrid Software Update

I am just past 1 yr ownership, first 8 months I saw no Recalibrations.
Last 4-5 months though I was seeing more and more, up to where I hit 2-3 recalibrations / battery dumps per day. I took it in yesterday and they applied software update MX3050 to the Battery and MXA120 to the PCM.
I have been driving around quite a bit last night and today and no more recalibrations or dumps. I notice the battery does not charge full as easily now which is good. Before when I was getting the dumps, I found the battery recharged way to fast and so it thought it was charged when it wasn't (i'm guessing)
I notice with this software update when I brake now, less load seems to be put in the electric motor and i am using more of the brakes to stop the car, the battery hasn't dropped below 5 bars so far.

How about assist, notice any difference? I'd suspect both assist and charging are somewhat muted by the update.

Yes it seems to have tamed assist a bit, however today I had a nice glide going with 4 bars assist and saw acceleration on a flat, so who knows. No dumps anymore though which is great!

How many kilometers on your HCH2 fuelmiser? I never get these on my 2006. I had one software up-date last fall and it assist more with full SOC and hardly any assist when down around 4bars SOC. I am real happy with the performance FE wise since the up-dates. I have around 50,000 kilometers on my 06. H

We get some obvious recals, at least once a week. Actually might be more frequent, since I tend to drive it only on weekends. Also get some quasi-recals: times when it shows lots of regen bars, but state of charge stagnates, and it seems miserly with assists. Similar to recal but not as extreme. We've got 82000 kms.

Ours had one software update, way back, coupled with a recall to better insulate the IMA battery terminals, in March 2007, nothing since.

I only have 26,000 kms on mine, so not much use out of it, it is only a year old.
Not one recal since the software update yet.

I don't know, my faith in Honda is slightly rattled by this , but I will reassess in it again over the next year of ownership.

My faith in Honda's Hybrid "family" (John Mendel's description, no relation BTW), is also slightly rattled by the complete lack of 2010 Civic Hybrids locally. Meanwhile they fiddle around with their new Hybrid 2-seater sports car...
