Default BlitzSafe Aux converter install

I had a '03 civic hybrid until just a month ago when I traded it for a Escape Hybrid (loved the Civic but I needed the room of the Escape). While I had my Civic I installed an input converter to allow me to play my mp3 player throught the factory audio system. These are pictures of the install in case anyone wishes to do the same.

1. Remove the switch blank (see photo) and carfully pull the dash panel out. There are sveral spring clips holding it in place (see photo)

2. unplug the 12v outlet connector from the back of the 12v outlet (see photo).

3. connect the aux converter by and reaching up behind the headunit and plugging in the conector to the headunit.

4. secure the aux converter and attach the 1/4 in. mini plug to RCA cable to the aux converter (see photo).

5. route the cable to a good spot to attach your mp3 player

6. test to make sure it works (see photo in part B)

7. reconnect the 12v outlet and carefully replace the dash panel.

8. enjoy

Cool. I have been trying (not very h ard) to figure out how to take that apart for a couple of weeks. I've been thinking of putting my Sony Plug and Play XM receiver in there. (Don't want to pay for another subscription)

Default Re: BlitzSafe Aux converter install

This job is quite different for the 2005's. Maybe the 04's as well....

1. Snap off the black trim of the shift boot (don't know what it's like in a CVT car) See photo.

2 Remove 2 phillips screws, pull remaining trim off. The entire thing (switch blanks and 12V power) is all one unit and the switch blank thing is screwed in. (I found out the hard way).

The rest is straight forward like "mppkll" said.
