Default Floor mats for '06?

Has anyone purchased floor mats for their '06 HCH, other then the "Heavy Duty..Hold a quart of melted snow" ones sold by Honda? Since I live in the Northeast I wanted to get something that would help protect the floor, but would still look a little lighter duty then the ones Honda Sell.

Any recommendations would be appreciated

.

I had them in my '04 and they worked fine. My Father has the McNeil mats in his '03 and the McNeil's definitely hold/trap more water than the Honda Factory rubber mats, due to the deeper groves. The reason I went with the factory mats is because the McNeil rear mat is 2 piece and left the center portion of the carpet exposed.

I currently have a set of the factory rubber mats in ivory on order....hopefully UPS drops them by today.

Also, they say that the rubber mats are not for use over the carpeted mats, but in my '04 they fit fine over them.... we'll see about the '06.

BTW, there's now way the Honda factory rubber mats will hold a quart of snow.....I think it's McNeil that made that claim.

Wouldn't a quart of water at your feet slosh around and spill over the mat when you turn a corner?

Dang, I'm glad I live in Southern California.

Kenny,

You keep that up and all those poor slobs in Canada and the frozen Northeast will be moving down here with us! Let's keep our wonderful SoCal weather to ourselves.

Yep, mats that hold a quart of water. That's what we all need!

I had inquired about the Weathertech (MacNeil) mats at mats.com

They sent me an e-mail on 9Feb06 saying that new mats designed to fit the '06 Civic would be arriving from England in a couple of weeks. They aren't on the web site yet but they are taking orders for the new W65 size. The rear mats are more of a 'universal size' and not specific to the new Civic.

I have Monster Mats in my Passat and love them, but they don't seem to make things for non-VW's. The Honda mats seemed quite insubstantial compared with the Monster Mats. I've never seen the MacNeil mats in person. I'll probably give them a shot.

Oh Ron!
Just let everyone move to Southern California.
We have plenty of cheap housing located next to jobs, and open empty freeways.
