Fuel economy tips for a new owner of an 06 Civic Hybrid ????
I was wondering:
I've read on here numerous topics about "hypermiling" or whatever techniques you found for getting better fuel economy out of a Civic Hybrid. But all the info was too scattered. I just bought mine last night, and I drove it home from Sacramento to L.A. (where I live), and I averaged 46 mpg for the trip. Pretty good considering I didn't use much of the Cruise Control. But I was wondering, what are some of the techniques to get BETTER fuel mileage ???? I don't really understand all of this stuff about the hypermiling and what not, so I was hoping someone could explain some of them to me so I can try them out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good job posting those links. Since this has been covered many times (hence why all the information is scattered) Its a good idea to just reference those links rather than rehash everything again.
I encourage everyone if they see a good FE link for the 06 civic to post it in this thread.

It's all in English, but MAN, its complicated....I don't really get the whole Pulse and Glide thing. Difficult technique, I tried to accelerate on the way back from Sacramento when my FCD maxes, but it always goes down. That means that the ICE is still on right ????

Re: Fuel economy tips for a new owner of an 06 Civic Hybrid ????
I just started driving an 06 HCH last week
For me I find that when I try to do Pulse and Glide to acheive 100mpg it drops too
fast. What I find works great for me is to get to desired cruising speed
between 55 & 65 miles per hour, let up on the gas till I see 1800 to 2000 RPM's.,
I can cruise quite a distance with the I-FCD at 65 to 75 mpg (also higher up
to 100 mpg but not often).
All my trips are around 40 miles with the last 5 trips at 60+ mpg range. Try that see
if it works for you, there other other techniques but a lot of it was trial and
error from what others have posted.
