I think I have a different technique. At work we have some glow in the dark paper. It's used to make lettering for dark spaces. i.e. exit, danger,etc.... I'll get some and make a lay out of the hybrid letters. The paper absorbs light during the day. Then when it gets dark. It uses that energy. Very bright.

I just checked 1/2 oz. ($10.98 selling price) and found shipping rates within USA:
USPS First Class Mail $4.15
USPS Priority Mail $6.35
USPS Parcel Post $6.38
UPS Ground $12.85
USPS Express Mail $16.15
I'd expect that shipping time anywhere in USA would be no more than 3 days by USPS first class or priority mail (I would not use parcel post since it costs more and takes longer) plus whatever processing time the vendor requires.

I sent the guys an e-mail asking if they could cut the glow paint in with silver. So it would be silver durning the day and glow at night. I may try to buy some off the shelf silver paint and thin it and add glow paint with it to see how that works if these guys can't/won't do it.

Edit:
Here is the reply I got.
Quote:
Baleno,

Customers have had varying success at mixing the raw pigment into a
standard colored paint. Lighter colors, such as your silver seem to work
better. We don't support this because there are just too many variables
that can affect the outcome. But in theory, it is possible. You would want
to purchase the raw powder from our site in the Ultra Blue or Ultra Green.
I suspect you would have to try a few different paints to find one that
would work.

Thanks,

Curious about this old thread...

Did anyone try the mixing approach - mixing the powder with silver paint?

I think it would be cool to make one that glows green and gets brighter as your mileage goes up.
Dollar green would be a good shade

.

To Hybrid or not to Hybrid?
That is NOT the question.

The question is: which one?
