Default HCH '06: Battery never full

My '06 HCH battery nevers gets completely full. It always stops one dot from full. Anyone else experience this? Should I take my car into the dealer?

Thanks!

It doesn't WANT to get completely full. As the battery gets more full, the affinity for assist increases. 5 bars is the natural position where your car will try to keep things--less than 5 and it will do more regen and not allow glide as easily; more than 5 bars and it will try to use up that extra juice.

Commuter car, grocery getter, and summer road tripper--average 10k miles per year.

Winter road trips and ski trips, bad weather commuter and my wife's "daily" driver--expected average 4k miles per year.

If you find a good long down hill, it will fill! H

Mine has never shown full. It has never gone below the half point either. It seems to like to be just one or two bars above the half point.

As Harold says, some downhill action will promote more charge. Also, driving some 10 miles on a clear freeway will bring the charge up. Pressing harder on the brakes will charge faster, too.
