Default Re: HCH 08, Car choking and missfiring?

if i may interject...

there is a glazing problem with the cvt trans that causes this exact type of symptom. there is actually a tsb that describes your complaint. it can happen at 4k miles or 40k miles...completely random

all it takes to fix it is changing the fluid and burnishing the clutches...should be under warranty for this repair even if there is no tsb for your specific vin number range. ive fixed this problem numerous times working in the shop at my dealer

I'm not sure if this is related to what others are describing or not, but I figured I'd throw it out there. I have around 1200 miles on my 2008 now. I've been experiencing a "surge"/"lurch" at certain speeds/RPMs/iFCD value/assist value either while maintaining speed or accelerating slightly (maybe both depending on the terrain). It seems like if I'm going around 57-62MPH at just under 2k RPMs, with an iFCD of 50+ MPG, and maybe 0-2 bars of assist, the engine/car will lurch forward/back in a 1-2 second cycle. If I lift my foot completely off of the accelerator and re-apply pressure it usually stops lurching and acts normally.

I never feel any lurching in my HCH2. It is the smoothest car I have driven. H

My 2008 has done the same thing about a dozen times, intermittenly. I'm almost always going between 55-65, and seem to have some assist bars on the gauge (I've tried to pay attention when it happens). The first time, I thought I was running over bumps or something, because it is very 'rhythmic' - I have found it keeps going if I accelerate, stops immediately if I let off the gas, even if just for a second. I only have 5,000 miles on my car, but I definitely plan to ask about it when I take it in for its first oil change. It's not right...
