I asked this of my salesperson and got a logical answer. Aside from pricing, they (Honda) want some distinction between Civic and Accord... otherwise, there's no real reason to pony up the extra $$$ for an Accord. They've never had power seats in Civics for this purpose. Actually, I'm really surprised at all the power stuff they do put into Civics these days.

I actually owned a first generation civic (a '76 2-door). That had power NOTHIN' in it! It had a manual choke, no A/C, crank windows, and a simple AM/FM radio. I added cruise control myself (no, it WASN'T a rock on the gas pedal!!!), and an upgraded stereo. The car didn't even have a right side outside mirror! That was an option that year! Even the inside rear view mirror didn't have a "Day / Night" switch! Sure was cheap... but I remember getting high 30's mpg back then with my high-tech Honda CVCC engine! Here's your trivia question for the day... anyone remember what "CVCC" stood for? I'll post the answer tonight!

Maybe you want the Civic to have a 40 gallon gas tank like your Exploder too?

I don't know how many stains there are. The interior is black leather and black carpet.

If memory serves, it was Controlled Vortex Combined Combustion... but my quick internet search shows at least four other versions! It's been so many years now that I just can't be certain! I did work at a Honda dealership in '79 & '80... but that seems like a lifetime ago.

Anyway, here I am in my fancy '76 Civic (which I repaired in '79 from an "L" shaped car I found in a junkyard!). No sliding arm rests in that baby!

That may be it, too. Long time ago.

It is Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion. You can find this in an article on Honda's website as well as various other sites.

You guys may already know this, but I didn't. This acronym, CVCC, is how the Civic got its name.
