WHat is your driving conditions.
I see you are in So. Fl.
I assume it is flat there. Only have overpass hills to deal with.

How long is your ususal commute? 42 miles each way Almost all highway.
What speed do you mostly drive at? 50-65 on open highway 10-20 in
traffic, mostly homeward commute.
Do you use cruise control? Tried it first day haven't since really too much
traffic to use.
Do you ususally drive alone? (less weight) Yes
From a stop do you accelerate very slowly? Most of the time depends on the
traffic conditions. occasionally had to fast accelerate to merge into fast traffic but level off quickly.

One of the things I like to do is get too speed and back off a little
to get the instant mpg to go up to 60-65mpg and cruise like
that as long as possible before another car forces me to break
the cruise. I do a full P&G on the overpass hills and when slowing.
I don't have the guts to shut engine off with the traffic I deal with
though I did try on an empty road just to see what it is like.

Takes about .3 miles of slow driving 25 mph to warm car enough
for AutoStop or Assist to function.

Drive a hybrid.
Best tank 71.65 MPG.

Before this car I spent two years learning hypermiling on my 2004 HCH1.

I disagree.

My goal is to use minimum gas without riding a bike.

That's fine. I didn't mean to offend, I just like to support those of us who actually need to use these hybrids for serious transportation, can't play around with it all day, and/or don't feel comfortable with the extreme driving it takes to hypermile. I like to play games, and I can certainly appreciate the temptation of the challenge to do one's best, I just don't have the luxury of doing that with the Hybrid. I love what it does for me and what it does for you.

I leave early so I can drive at a more fuel-efficient speed.

Calling that playing around is sort of unpleasant, don't you think?

To each his own.

I've decided I live in too hilly of an area and I live in too congested of an area to achieve such high numbers. I wish I had the luxury of driving 50 or even 60 in the slow lane, but in Los Angeles, they'll run you right off the road....

Luis;

I got news for you, your not going to drive in Nashville, Tn. on the interstate at 50-60 MPH either if you have Good- Sense.

All; did I mention the word, Dangerous?
