Honda "Service Specials" ? - GreenHybrid

Hi - the '06 HCH I have on order will be my first Honda, so was wondering if Honda sends out mailings with coupons and service specials you can redeem at your local dealer? I own a vehicle from one of the "Big 3" US Auto manufacturers and periodically get a newsletter with coupons for $$ off oil changes, tire rotations, AC Check, etc.

I've owned Hondas since 1985, but I've never gotten anything like that. It may vary from dealer to dealer though.

"My dealer" actually has parts and service coupons on their web site that can be printed and redeemed. Haven't used them yet (I do my own oil changes), but it's kind of cool just in case.

I completed the paperwork on my 06 HCH last night. Family Automotive Group (Family Honda and Family Toyota) give customers free oil changes for the life of the car. Is this a common practice with other Honda dealers?

WOW, I didn't get that deal.

Oh well, doesn't matter. I prefer to use synthetic anyway.

My dealer sends out "specials" regularly.

Also when I loaned my Insight to my father and he took it in for warranty work (headlight switch went out) they gave him a coupon for a free oil change. I won't use it as I do my own oil changes and am scared they'll strip out my oil plug which has made it 5+ years, plus I like to see what's going on underneath the car as I have access to a lift.

in my case, i have gotten mailings regularly from honda. i think its because my dealer is in a smaller town and they get to know their customers. my hch is the second honda i have gotten from them, so they like me

I get them in the mail. I think you get on their mailing list once you have your car serviced for the first time. I always get reminder notices of my next oil change and the notice generaly has a discount coupon for oil change or tire rotation or some such thing.
