Default IMA Warranty Question Texas > California

My 2005 HCH was originally purchased in Texas. I purchased it used from a dealer in California.

Today it threw P1600 and P1433 codes - Battery failure.

My question is, will my car be covered under California's 10-year/150,000 mile warranty?

It is easy to find out, call a local dealer and give them the VIN.

No it does not, the ima warranty is covered only by what state the vehicle is registered in, not where it was purchased. example, I just moved to as from ca, when I went in because the battery recalls are now every time I drive it and I average 24 to 28 mpg on a good day, and I have just hit 100k miles, they were quick to tell me I am out of warranty, however Honda confirmed as I am still registered in ca, I'm covered, I have been fighting the recall issues for 5 months now and absolutely hate the car, especially seeing as I've only had it since last November. And some days it's almost undriveable, but Honda says that's how it's supposed to run.

Ack, you are right.

Only product I have ever heard of with a warranty that degrades if it is moved to another jurisdiction.

The reverse is true also, if your in an 8/80k and move to a 10/150k state, it upgrades,
But with the hch issues it doesn't matter because Honda fights you and says nothing is wrong until you go out of warranty, then it's a bad part and needs replaced.
