Default its nice to be 62 mile bug free

just checked my girlfriends 06 hybrid civic. a trip read 53.8 mpg for 180.5 miles. filled to top of tank at the same station as last time and actual real miles per gallon was 55.44. pretty close. also life time on a trip is reading
53.0 with 245 miles.

sure is nice to have it fixed.

yeah, it is nice to have it fixed and working properly. Since I got it back yesterday I have passed the 62/63 mile and did not see any strange fluctuations in the gauge. I did notice one thing strange though. Of course since it is a whole new cluster, my odometer was all zero's when I picked it up but my correct oil life indicator stayed the same which was at 30%. I thought this would have been effected as well since they replaced the whole gauge cluster.

I think, every time the battery, not the hybrid one but the standard one, your trip will be reset to zero.

It was like that with my previous car anyway.

Oh I don't care about the trip odometer--
I'm talking about the cumulative-miles on-the-car-since-it-was-born odometer.
THAT gets zeroed?

Question Re: its nice to be 62 mile bug free

Do any of you know what the Vin# cut-off for this 62 Mile-Bug is? Just wondered if anyone has heard.

Haven't heard. Since it has appeared on some cars from the beginning and not on others, I suspect that they have two subcontractors building the gauge assemblies and one of them has the bug. They may continue to sell those with the problem long after they know about the bug because they figure that very few of the customers will notice and complain about it.

Hmmm, for some reason this just bothers me, to have my main odometer zeroed. This doesn't seem to bother anyone else?

The dealer doesn't have special voodoo to manually reset the mileage on the new odometer to what it was on the old one?
