I've been driving a used 2000 Mitsu Galant (4 cyl) for several years and my commute allows me to get 27-29 mpg year round - I think EPA is around 27 or 28 for that vehicle. I've been reading this website for about 6 months to try to learn how to hypermile and to learn everything I can about the HCH2.
I drive about 500 miles/week on generally flat roads with 2/3 of it on a state hwy doing 60-65
mph. So, I'm hoping my driving habits and commute are optimized for this car!
He told me that there's one "on the boat" and should be at the dealership in md-late April!
