Default Mobil 1 0W-20 price range

For comparison purposes, I'm wondering what kind of price range people are encountering for Mobil 1 0W-20.

At a Wal-Mart on one side of town, I found it for $5.12/qt. At a Walmart on the other side of town, I found it for $4.68/qt. Interesting (I wonder if they'll price match each other).

Incidentally, if I get a case, how long can the oil sit in my basement without "going bad"? Does that even happen?

When I ducked into the Delaware, OH Wally World last week, the two single quart bottles were $5.36ea, and the six-pack case placeholder was $31.02. I would imagine they would price-match themselves, and find it odd that there was a difference to begin with. Also, I've never heard of oil going bad just because it sat on the shelf.

.

Someday I might even beat that wascally kenny!

Wal-Marts and Sam's Clubs in different neighborhoods adjust the prices based on the demographic income of the area. FACT.

My boss lives in a snooty-patooty part of town, and he had an item at his Sam's Club that was $29.99. My Sam's Club had the exact same item at $24.99. We noticed it on other items also.

Buy from the Wal-Mart in the "poorest" side of town to get the best price.

I think it can last well over 6 years... so you are safe.

I haven't seen the price directly but I know that the service center that I've got my lube for the past 6 years on three different vehicles has always be $x... but when they needed the 0W-20 for the first time, my bill was $x + $25 because they said that 0W-20 was more expensive than normal oil.

Thanks,
Shawn

Wow, I would have thought everything would be the same price, it is the same store after all. Weird.

Shrug... doesn't surprise me, though. If you can get an extra quarter-point margin by milking the rich just a bit more, why not? After all, they get it back in their quarterly dividends anyways.
