I haven't driven much yet, since the weather was quite miserable and rainy today - but the thing I'm noticing the most is how quiet the car is !! (I traded in a 1993 Nissan Sentra with 99700 miles on it).

It's comfortable to drive, I love the adjustable seat since I'm short, and plenty of places to plug in appliances !! Voice-operated computer for email, perhaps ??? (just kidding)

Since I do a lot of in-town, stop-start driving, I'll be very interested in the performance.

I'll contribute more as I drive the car.

Hi spring or is that Kitten ?

Any way congrats on the New Arrival today.
Say where are you from, like the State?

Hi to all,

Thanks for the Welcome !! Does the Chicago group have a driver's club yet ? e.g. early breakfast on a Sunday at a good eating spot with lots of (free) parking ?

I wanted a Hybrid for the longest time, but other things kept coming first - know what I mean ?

Then my Nissan got towed twice - once in the snowstorm 2 weeks ago (dead alternator and battery) and once last week (dead starter) and I decided it was time to get off the fence.

I'm SO excited about the 2006 Hybrid !!! I really lucked out, since I called the dealer and they had one within a week !! Maybe someone else had it reserved and wanted a different color, or something.

More news as news rolls in....I'm just waiting for seat covers since I have a dog, Nini (American Eskimo) ....any suggestions ?

btw : I also have 4 cats , Cleo, Munchkin, Pretzel and Cookie

Check out Wet Okole (www.wetokole.com) they make very nice custom car seats. I had a set on my Insight for over 100k miles. They are made of neoprene or...wet suit material - so that may or may not dissuade you from your choice - but I was very happy with them in my Insight.

I still have some pics on my website www.littlebluespitfire.com in the Insight gallery.

Welcome to the club! I was supposed to pick up my HCHII yesterday...now I'm sitting here waiting on a phone call from my NEW dealership. (Long story posted elsewhere on this forum).

Nope. No club yet. I've met with Wayne (xcel) a few times. I haven't met any of the others in Chicago. In the summer the Madison hybrid group has a brewers game gathering that is pretty cool. A few of the members here go to that. Also, there is a Milwaukee hybrid group starting up which isn't too far from me (about 1 1/2 hours). I may end up going to a few of those meetings.

If anyone is interested in organizing things I might be interested in attending some kind of get-to-gether.

On another note. I think I saw my first 06' civic hybrid at lunch today. It was parked in someones driveway in DesPlains(sp?) and I saw it on the drive back from lunch. Anyone here own it?

C'mon guys and gals, you can do it!
We've already got Madison Hybrid Group and Milwaukee Hybrid Group .
How about Chicago Hybrid Group?

Then we can all get together for this summer for Midwest Hybridfest on July 22nd.

Anyway this is getting off topic. Any discussion of a Chicago group should probably be in the Events and gatherings forum.
