We were at the dealer last night and it looks like they won't even start seeing them until sometime in mid to late October. They had two on their list with August build dates but since they were coming from Japan, he didn't know when they would ship.

...and the big tax credit (not deduction as in 2005) is for hybrids purchased January 1 thru the end of December 2006, correct?? As I recall from another thread, it's supposed to be somewhere around $1,700 for the 2006 HCH?? A 2006 model purchased before the end of this year (2005) only qualifies for the much smaller 2005 deduction, right?? After seeing the gas war around here this week ($3.39 regular, many stations out of product and closed), I predict that 2006 HCH's will be as scarce as hen's teeth in January/February 2006. Hopefully AHC has ramped up production to meet the anticipated demand.

Not that I would take his word for it (I like him and think my sales guy does a great job but I need to ask a tax professional), but the sales person I talked to last night seemed to think as long as it was a 2006, you could get a $2,000 tax CREDIT (not a deduction).
