Having had my new HCH for a week I'm itching to mount my cell phone and ham radio in it. With my previous vehicles I drilled holes and or used "super tape" to attach mounting brackets for my electronic gear. Now that I'm middle aged and somewhat more conservative with my property I want to avoid that.

What I'd like to do is attach some sort of bracket that could be clamped onto the side of the console that houses the gear shift. From the clamp would extend a pole or bracket onto which I would mount a cellphone holder or control head for a radio. The cell phone would then be to the right of the gear shift facing me.

Where could I find this item or parts to make one?

.

I've got a terrible pain in all the diodes down my left side.

I've been toying where I can put my compact CB.....the only place I can forsee is inside the center armrest console.

I don't know of any comercually available cellphone holders, but since I am good with tools I'd likely find a strip of thin, formable 1" wide strap metal and form it into a sort of clip to fit the wall of the center console so it protrudes out from under the closed armrest lid.
No drilling or tape would be required.

On the end of the strip I'd put a holder for the phone, be it plastic or a shallow leather cup.

But then tha'ts just the tinkerer in me.

.

Efficient drivers do it better.
