Yes, I know I'm a stupidass for doing this.... but in my favor, I had no idea how deep this thing was.... without water, that part of the street looks just like any other normal stretch, and as I said, we get rain one or two days out of the year here if we're lucky, and when it does rain it evaporates as soon as it touches ground cus it's that **** hot here... I would have never guessed that that thing was that deep. Regarding the maintenance check, my HCH hasn't even logged in 2500 miles, it's brand new, just bought it about a month or two ago... heck, I still haven't even changed the oil on it. However, by your guy's (and girl's) response I do suppose I should take it in to a garage to get it checked out. Is there something I can do to inspection it myself first before taking it in though? I should warn you though that I'm completly useless with cars (that was a no brainer).

Given the fact the car still runs and drives just fine, now a day or two later, I'd say that there is nothing that you personally will be able to spot since it's obviously still in normal working order. I would NOT mention to the dealer that you dunked the car, just take it in for an oil change and regular vehicle inspection and leave it at that. If you mention anything about getting the car in deep water they can void your warranty for abuse.

yeah, i wasn't planning on telling the dealer this story.... however, the "incident" happened about three weeks ago, not a few days... so by now there should be some sign of it messing up had something occured to it shouldn't there?

Your 7500 mile service will include a number of inspections - belts, set engine to specs, etc. If you're only at 2500 that's a tough call. Your dealership would probably wonder why you'd want a more complete service so soon. Getting the oil changed at 3K might not be a bad idea - do it at the dealership and at least they might look around...
