Need HcH-savvy shop near Round Rock/Austin TX
This is a long shot, but I'll try anyway.
I ordered a replacement battery for my 2007 HcH (150K miles) from one of the well-known third party manufacturers. After they spent the better part of two weekends trying to get it to work (swapping batteries, installing a new ECM, etc) they tell me that everything is fine, but that Honda needs to 'reprogram' the onboard computer to get it to communicate with the new battery. So, hoping that this is not a load of hooey, I need to find someone around here that actually has a clue about this.
My experience with the local Honda dealers aren't that great and I'd just as soon not have to deal with someone probably telling me that "oh, this isn't a valid battery so the only thing we can do is replace it." I have seen some other threads to indicate that there are people besides Honda who know how to do this and won't charge an arm and a leg to do it.
Thanks. I'd like to keep this to finding someone else to do the programming, not how stupid this all sounds if at all possible.
