Default No sun roof on HCH...Why not??

I love sun roofs.... but the dealer tells me that they sould not be installed on the HCH.

When asked why, he really did not know besides that Honda explicity does not recommend it.

Does anyone know a reason?

They can be installed aftermarket - several owners have done so.

They do not come OEM from Honda because the large piece of glass adds extra weight to the car, thus in part defeating the purpose of the Hybrid in achieving max MPG.

Here is a related thread with some good info on HCH moon/sun roofs:

I dont know as well, I did however get the same response from the dealer on this as well. They say that HONDA Explicitly does not recommend it at all. In reviewing the Helm manual there is nothing there that would be in the way that you could not move ( dome lights / antenna etc) so i am guessing it is Structural ?

Hmmmm.thanks everyone for your replies.
Guess that, from what I see, installing a sunroof is at one's own risk.
I guess I'll have to wait for my next vehicle to install a sunroof.
