Default Saw a reg Civic today

They look better in person than in the web photos. Got a brochure on 4 door models.
IF ONLY they would put decent rims on the HCH as they are ugly, ugly, ugly!
The HCH rims look like a Pontiac rim or something that would go on an Insight and are 15 inch. 15 inch is OK but I would have to definitely change the rims out were I to get one. The EX rims look great and are 16 inch. There is a 17 inch HFP rim option dealer install for the Civic. Wonder if it would work on HCH? They may weigh more, but cant be that much and I would definitely go with them over the factory rims! I dont understand why Honda has to do dumb things like this. A great company, but lacking in certain areas for sure!

They seem to do some really smart things and then there is stuff like these rims. I am waiting to see them in person but I am not sure why they had to make them so distinctive.

They kind of remind me of the old Izuzu Impulse wheels. Unique in their own special way. (I say the same thing about ugly girls too )

they're like the original insight wheels. I think they did it, 'cause it looks like the wheels are now the only indicator besides the "hybrid" emblem on the rear that sets it off as a hybrid.

I am not super happy about the exterior. The interior rocks, but I'm worried about ipod compatability.

There are no low rolling resistance tires in 16 or 17" that would have helped them achieve the fuel economy rating they did with 15's.

Low rolling resistance? There are 14 inch ones on the 03-05 HCH. These same tires are on regular Honda Civics, at least 05s. The rims are the problem (ugly) not the tires on the 06! I bet there is not 2 lbs difference in the rim weights. That would not effect mileage by .1 of a mile over 10,00 miles! Regular Civic EX rims would look good onthe HCH.
Another dumb thing out of the box is that they made the new SI Civic to run on high test gas. I would not buy a car these days that required high test.
