Re: Is a tint really worth it?
I got mine tinted in a little shop in San Antonio, can't remember the name but it was on Memorial Highway (I think). $100 - lifetime warrenty - of course this was in Sep of '03. They've done several of my cars over the years, actually they are normally a reason why I like to go visit San Antonio - not the in-laws.
It makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD! So get the tint!

Re: Is a tint really worth it?
Did you get the front windows tinted also? And with a strong tint, like the other windows? Or did you use different strengths for the front and back?
I'm curious because I heard that you can get a ticket for tinting the front windows; in fact, the tinting shop here makes you sign a waiver that says that you can't blame them if the police give you a ticket for it.

Rigger,
I'm going to SA today, you don't have your old receipt? That is a hell of a deal!

Re: Is a tint really worth it?
Wow. I just got back from a short trip to Arby's for lunch, and saw three other Civic Hybrids! I wonder if any of them were bigbearballs?
I also saw someone test driving a HAH near First Texas Honda. I bet they drive it home tonight

I got the same tint all the way around. Can't remember what %. It's a fairly light tint as I think the car would look gaudy with a deep tint being such a light color car. In the end IMO it looks pretty classy. I used to go with a deep tint on the back for all my cars but since have changed (grown up).
No waiver signed. I did sign a waiver once, something about obstructing the side mirror's view. Can't remember much as it was about 7 years ago, smae place though. My receipt might be out in the car, I've been really good about keeping a pile of them for whatever I get for the car........except air freshners

I drove to SA today, wasn't at Arby's. I live in South Austin, so I bet we don't pass each other. If you ever see a tan HCH with a BU sticker on the back, that is bigbearballs. Living in S. Austin, I see at least one HCH a day. I've seen up to four in one day. There are Prius's everywhere though. We should start an Austin hybrid group. There's got to be enough interest to start something.

Re: Is a tint really worth it?
Good idea. I've been thinking about proposing the same idea myself
I've just registered the domain name austinhybrid.net, and when I get around to it, I'll point it at a website and we can get started

Re: Is a tint really worth it?
Georgia has just recently passed a window tintng law that requires less than 35% obstruction on non-factory tinted windows and is enforcing it with up to $1000.00 fine:
http://www.wtoctv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3424705
I don't agree or dissagree with it, just wanted folks to know and be aware.
You might want to check with (at least) your surrounding states in case you might ever want to visiit there.
