I picked up a 2005 brochure at my Honda dealer last week. I was extremely curious about one picture I saw. There was a picture of the FCD that showed 50.0 MPG! In my 2004 I can't hit 50 on the nose, it is either 49.9 or 50.3. That brought up several questions for me.

Has anyone hit 50.0? When our cars go in for service does the Honda dealer every do a "software upgrade"? Can we ask for an upgrade?

maybe a little PhotoShop action from the Honda marketing gurus?

I looked back at the 2004 brochure and the same type shot shows 56.2. I would have thought they would stay with the higher number. Maybe they are trying to bring *down* expectations.

I've got an '05 MT HCH and the display jumps in 3 or 4 tenths at a time. I can't verify the 49.9 to 50.3 jump because my lowest displayed mileage after 3 tanks is 57.9. The next jump after 57.9 is 58.2.

I love the car overall but the display should update in single tenths and should refresh a bit quicker IMO.

I've heard rumours the display is upgraded with more accuracy and more frequent updates for the next model.
