Talking Very Cool 3D view on Honda Site

Okay, okay who cares about a 3D view on the Honda Civic Hybrid site, you saw the view for the 05 and it wasn't anything special, right?

Well once you get into this 3-D view you can select "Enlarge View" (which makes the car the size of your display - and it is sharp, 1280x1024 on my display) but the cool part is you have full freedom to rotate the car in all 3 axis! You can see the underside of the car in great detail (something most of us would never get to do).

It's just neat. BTW Honda has the Civic Hybrid pretty buttoned up on the bottom. You can look at the same 3D view for the normal 2006 Civic and see that the Hybrid has quite a bit of extra closure on the bottom - keeping that air flow smooth. I would have never known.

Requirements to see this is a "Viewpoint Media Player" plugin. It didn't install in Firefox (I didn't try and find a downloadable install separately), but it installed itself in I.E. and the "Enlarge View" is fantastic.

This is just a cool thing. Enjoy guys and gals....

By the way, I am sure you have all seen the excellent Honda 10 minute video showing in some detail the working of the ICE and its 2spark plug 3 valve modes, plus the various stages of the electric motor and battery operation. I have saved it and watch it about once a week to remind myself of the beauty of the technology.

I can't get it to work on my one-year-old mac.

Need fewer troops to support.
Drive a hybrid.
Best tank 71.65 MPG.

Before this car I spent two years learning hypermiling on my 2004 HCH1.

You need the Viewpoint Media Player. They currently only have a beta for the Mac:

Oddly, I got it to work on the interior view of the car but I can't get it to work on the exterior.
