Default XM changes for 2007 model?

Is the 2007 HCH more pre-wired for XM than the 2006 is? If so that kind of bums me out. I'm really interested in getting factory XM for my '06 HCH, but the prices I've heard for equipment and installation are off the charts (around $900).

I currently have a Roady2 installed in my car but the sound is only OK and sometimes downright awful. Is there a cheaper option for the factory unit?

XM is standard on the 07's with the Navi. The XM antenna is integrated into the roof mounted radio antenna, instead of having a separate antenna mounted inside the vehicle on the windshield.

I got 3 months free with my 07 w/ Nav. Did not have to lift a finger, it just works.

I also got 3 months free XM radio with my HCH II 07 w/ Nav. It is enabled when you get the Nav package for 2007 models.

XM only works if you have navigation system only? ???

If you do not have navi, then how does the XM works?

I just extended my HCH's XM subscription past the initial three month trial period for an additional year at half the going rate ($77 vs. $142) it was very easy, you can read more if you like here:

Also, the new subscription starts when my current three month trial period ends, which sets me up clear until next April!

Forget about it for the '06. It did not come with the XM unit installed (they figured out how to ship the XM units to Japan before the car is built when they switched over to the '07s). That's why it's so much more for the '06. The actual unit is not factory installed.
