Question 2006 Saturn VUE? Hybrid @ a nice price.

I was trying to find some info about the Saturn VUE hybrid the other day and only found the main web site

http://www.gm.com/company/gmability/...n_vue_bas.html

After looking at the PDF brochure... now I'm kinda interested. Mileage isn't that way off from Ford Escape hybrid and they claim an "attractive price" meaning around the $20000 US? !!

Anyone else have any more info about this SUV? or VUE

.

i got around 20 km a liter when i drove a civic 5 spd using advanced hypermiler techniques
and now I drive a salvage nwh20 prius that gets almost to 25 km/l with 192,000 km to date.

GM has been promising a hybrid VUE for 4-5 years now... I'll belive it when I see it.

Looks like you can't EV around in it though. I still have a hard time calling the Silverado a hybrid.

I wonder what kind of MPGs it'll get, the setup doesn't sound as efficient as the other SUV hybrids out there. My guess is it'll be in the 25s mixed.

from what I can tell from the pdf it improves efficency in all levels of city driving EXCEPT for rush hour stop and go traffic. In our lives going to work we going to expect a lot of that and that in the area it fails ;( So in stop and go I assume your going to be in 1st gear a lot... gas waster!

There is Toyota THS-M Hybrid system which is similar to GM BAS.

The Toyota Crown Mild Hibid was introduced in 2002 for Japanese market only.
http://toyota.jp/Showroom/All_toyota...mechanism.html
It is 14% better mileage than the normal engine car.

So, GM is four years behind in this area.
