Default Auto-stop

Question of the day....

What do you like and hate about the way your hybrid's auto-stop/start functioning works? Does it kick in too early, too late, etc? Feel free to elaborate!

It needs to come on sooner.
The 5MPH threshold of reactivation needs to be eliminated.
Some kind of manual over-ride is needed.

Just my $.02

.

Efficient drivers do it better.
1003 miles a tank personal record. 74MPG calculated. HCH1 CVT

I wish that they had built the Insight without power brakes, it's so light it really doesn't need them.
Autostop will sometimes not work if I tap the brakes too many times while creeping forward in traffic. Then I'm forced to manually stop the engine.
This could be avoided if the car didn't have the vacuum booster for the brakes.

They could bump the Autostop speed up 5 mph or so. Say 25-27 mph instead of 19-22 mph. I turn into my neigborhood from a highway while the car is slowing to about 25 mph. The speed limit is 30 mph in the neighborhood and I can coast with the engine off from the entrance to my driveway. It would be nice for Autostop to happen automatically rather than having to force it.

A lot of times while sitting at a traffic signal (in Autostop, but everybody else around me idling), I wonder to myself how much time/fuel is wasted because of poor traffic light synchronization or management. In Louisiana, traffic signals are installed at intersections with little planning or thought as to how it will affect traffic flow.

Regards,
