Question Camry Hybrid's made in Japan?

I see the Camry Hybrids at my local Toyota dealer are assembled in Japan, with 100% of parts made in Japan. Aren't they up to speed with assembly in the US? Or can't they keep up with demand?

Just curious.

It's not where the car is assembled that is interesting but where are the engine assemblies made. The heart of the beast.

I well remember when Mercedes "made in Russia" were assembled in Russia, that is arrived in Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea without their wheels which were then " fitted" in Russsia. It was mostly for tax reasons. But even so........

With a hybrid this question is critical!

Silly question, but why is it critical? Cars are made around the world and shipped around the world. Other than maybe wanting to favour local industry (which is significant to many), what difference does it make?

Just curious...
