What I've found so far:
Ontario Province: increase of $1000. Total: $2000
Quebec Province: new incentive of $1000.
So it's not all Canadian that get higher incentive.

Maybe they do, but i doubt it is Canadians collecting those bounty's since 99% of Canada's crude oil is Exported to the U.S. of A.

But I did see an article in the paper(sorry don't have a link, Houston Chronicle a couple of weeks ago) That while the US uses more oil the Canadians use more per person! It went on to say it was because of heating oil. kevin

Re: Canadian hybrid tax incentive almost doubles
I am in Quebec and got my new Escape Hybrid 2 weeks ago! If anyone reads when this comes into effect (retroactive I hope) please chime in. I purchased it expecting nothing in tax incentives but I'll take it if I can!
Cheers,
Roch

Re: Canadian hybrid tax incentive almost doubles
Rcomeau,
Sorry man, Your purchase is not available for 2 reasons.
First, It's not retroactive. Start from today only.
Secondo, It's only applied to limited hybrid model who does both city / highway under 6L/100km. I already read the budget on that issue.
I live in quebec too and bought an HCH 2006 in february. My car would probably be qualified but since it's not retro. I'm doomed....
But that my curse in life, tax break always come after I do a move. I did that bet with my dealer when I bought the car.
But what can I say, I love my car...
