Default Cargo ship listing...

I just hope they weren't hybrids... CG officials weren't sure why the ship started to list.. Could it be the weight of 5000 improperly secured vehicles all sliding to port in rough seas, I wonder???.. Must be quite a tangled mess of cars in there.

From Yahoo News

Those things hold 5,000 cars? Incredible.

I'm trying to understand how. The video shows a near calm sea. Storms can blow-over but so fast?

Also, I notice the ship is riding pretty high even on its side. How the heck did it get tipped?

I look forward to reading the accident or 'ship loss' report.

Of course we don't know what kind of cars are inside of that thing, but just for fun let's assume that each car has a value of $19,000. Multiplied times 5,000 that's $95 million dollars!

And that doesn't include the undercoating, rustproofing, fabricoating, paint protect or extended warranty.

One news report indicated that there were 1,376 new Mazdas bound for Tacoma on that ship. It didn't list what other vehicles were on it or where they were going.

What do they call 1,376 non-hybrids on the bottom of the ocean?

A good start.

I heard the same joke regarding lawyers in the movie "Philadelphia". Hmmm, equating lawyers and non-hybrids. Who's being insulted there?
