Default Changing the Interior Color

Hi all: Im a color Dye Specialist and own an 05 PII. I just saw the new 06 Prius and liked what they did with the Interior, mainly the color. Those of us with the older 04-05 PII's have that goofy purple ish brown to the tops of our doors and dash. Well im going to change mine to the black that ive seen on the new ones. It looks so much nicer than the other. I'll let you know how it comes out.If anyone might be interested in this process in the chicago area let me know, and ill let you know how long mine took and the approx cost. Have a good New Year everyone. Dean

I was curious about how much you can actually dye in a car (materials, colors). It would be great if you could post some before and after pics for everyone. I have always wondered how it looks when that is done ... I have wanted to change a few cars interiors and just never looked into it. I like black so it will be great to hear what you have to say about time amd cost. It should look great! Good luck and take care.

Blue: Ive been doing this for about 19 years now. I can dye most things on a cars interior vinyl and leather for sure. Plastic parts but they require more care so not to scratchi can spray cloth to restore sun fading ie: tops of seats carpet. However i cannot change the color of cloth. Also i can not repair certain stains in carpet or on cloth seats, Bleach, battery acid, and RED juices are the worst. when i have the time to do my car i will post before and after shots, however the color is dark so i dont know how much you will see. I was just curious as to how that was coming or if you had the time yet and if you liked the way it turned out, although it has only been a month, you may not have had time yet. I was hoping that I could change my interior to a dark color (black), but I will take your word for it that it will not work. I like dark cars and dark interior. I can't complain, at least I don't have that brown that is in those 90s cadillacs.

Im hoping to get the rear doors done (thats where im going to start) this comming week. If the weather is good and i have some slow work days i should be able to do it all in a few hours. ill post when im done, but im sure it will look nice.
