Default Click and Clack on mileage!

I've just been listening online to this past week's Click and Clack (NPR). They have a great segment on driving tips for getting the best mileage (in the context of a discussion about a Prius and a LandCruiser).

It's a great discussion and hits the most critical points of acceleration and going at the speed limit. And entertaining, like all their other stuff.

This discussion is at Segment 6, "And the Prius shall guide you". Check it out. Trust me, it's worth the it. The segment is about five or six minutes.

I agree, they are hilarious. I sometimes plan my saturday mornings around being in the car so I can listen to them. Now that I know it's available online, I don't have to do that anymore.

Ironically, on an earlier segment from the same show, they had an owner of a Civic HX, with a CVT that was making this horrendous sound. It had about 80K miles on it. Sounded like the CVT needs to be completely replaced. Made me worry about my own CVT.

I don't trust those shows for opinions on cars or technology. They either A) have friends in the industry, or B) have sponsers they have to promote.

For instance one show they were talking about the saturn ION or something and said "it gets 32MG" and were ooohing over the 32mpg. Even by non hybrid standards that is the bare minimum one should expect. Its nothing notworthy. Then during the show guess who they were sponsered by? Lots of talkish type shows tend to work the advertising into the show so you don't realy know its an ad vs. personal opinion.
