Question Convertible Hybrid?

This may be a silly question, but do any of the engineers hereabouts feel that there could someday be a convertible hybrid?

Follow-up: Would having the top down defeat the purpose of the hybrid? Does the top open create so much drag as to ruin MPG?

What do you think?

Because of the drag issue they can only be sold to bald people.

Nice one.

Hybrid convertibles won't come out, in my opinion, until hybrids are commonly accepted as "cool," but there are a couple roadblocks in the way, too: what do convertible drivers need hybrid systems for? As a generalization, I doubt they're worried about fuel economy and I doubt they're looking to smoke the guy in the next lane over. Why go hybrid?

The Mazda Miata isn't going to smoke anything except my Civic! The old MGs were very fun to drive but then again not too powerful of an engine. Why go hybrid? Maybe for "enviromental" reasons which hybrids were developed for in the first place! Kevin
